Katie

I've been Katie's mama for a little over 2 years (she is a rescue dog). She bites-in fact that is on big letters on her vet folder! Because of that her teeth have never been checked. She loves to chase the ball and for the last few days she would stop the ball but not pick it up! This took a lot of the fun out of it for me!! so off to the vet we go. Of course they couldn't really tell me anything without "knocking" her out. I said do whatever needs to be done to get her well. I picked her up last night-she has 5 teeth left!  The vet said her teeth had been filed down and were in bad shape. She was supposed to come home and rest-the first thing she did was chase the cat! Then she came in and counted all her toys and picked a fight with Trixie!! She is on the mend.

--Customer picked up her pumpkin quilt today. She said it was a kit purchased from The Cherry Pit.
It did really turn out good!!---

Great finish to a great week...

I finished the pumpkin quilt and I am pleased with how it came out. Don't you love the chicken sitting on the pumpkin?

DH is working so it's been a pretty quiet Sunday. He did fly over to make sure I was home and not out spending money!! :(

Feelin' Groovy

It's hot outside-I have a huge quilt on the machine-and my helper is sleeping on the job!!
It's Friday and I am ready  for 5 o'clock!!

Beautiful day

This is the quilt I am working on today! I just love the border and sashing fabric-the pic doesn't show the true color. This quilt jumped ahead of another quilt because the other quilt's backing was too short!! As a longarmer that is the worst feeling when you get to the bottom of the quilt and have more top than back! It usually doesn't have to happen to you but ONE time! Now no matter how many people or how many times the back has been measured I still drape the top over the backing and physically make sure there is enough backing!
It seems the bigger the quilt the harder it is to get the backing big enough!! Usually customers forget they made that border a little wider or even added an extra border!

Last month my business credit card was "phished". It had a charge for $1 and then two days later a charge for $39.95 to a 1-800 number in CA. I called the number and asked what business it was and the man said "I need your credit card number". Of course I refused and hung up and called the credit card company. They said they would take care of it-I said I wanted to cancel that number and get a new one. New card came in and I didn't activate it. Opened my bill yesterday -had the $39.95 charge on it again. I called CC company and they said that charge was made before I got my new number-but they hadn't "taken care of it" and refunded the money! I had to tell the story to 2 other people who promised to remove the charges. Guess who the 1-800 company was? an adult entertainment site!! Where are the quilt police when you need them?! :) :)

I need another vacation...

DH has been working a lot in Savannah, GA and he asked me to come with him and I could relax in the hotel room. that didn't work out!! Too much to do-to much to see! I walked a lot and I sweated a lot! Boy was it humid!

I have gotten a little sewing done. I quilted my monkey quilt and now I have to bind it. I also got the sleeve and label on my dragonfly quilt.

I am so tired from my "little vacation" that I need another one!!

Across the pond.....

    This is my youngest DS. He met me today at an antique mall where I bought a new thread storage cabinet. We took this pic outside (he's holding the camera!) the store. I will not see him again for 6 months-he leaves tomorrow on his deployment. Please keep him in your prayers- it's going to be a long 6 months! I will do like I always do-work,work,work. It makes the time go by faster!
