Down on the farm, 22 weeks and Maddie

Another trip to the farm...................
When something catastrophic happens to you and you survive (it's been 22 weeks since my operation) you look at the world different. Spending time with my parents and just walking around the farm with the dogs is a great way to spend the afternoon!
-----------------------------
I did make this quilt for my new granddaughter -to-be

They are calling her Maddie and her middle name will be Rose-so roses on the back!
Had the TV off most of the day and then turned it on and saw the devastation in Oklahoma. Prayers going up for all the victims-especially the children.

Hope your Monday was great and everyone has a great week!

Down on the farm

I finished both of my Dr Seuss quilts . I got the idea from Julie's blog. She gives a tutorial if you want to make one. I didn't read the tutorial but looked at the picture so mine may be a little different.
Here's the girl one
and the back
The boy one
and the back
January, February, and March I could not drive and was doped up so I watched the Jodi Arias trial. Then yesterday I decided to go to my Moms quilting meeting and I missed the live verdict.! Oh well -I did get some fresh eggs. My Mom has a couple chickens (they are like pets).
I scored big at JoAnn's on Monday. I picked up this book to buy and then trying to talk myself out of spending money on more books I asked the clerk if it was on sale. Yes she said -$2.96! I'll take it!

Hope your day is good!

Cleaning my house, pulling weeds out of my flower gardens, or napping but instead I am running this Dr. Seuss girl quilt
While peicing this boy Dr. Seuss quilt
Also keeping my eye on the TV for the verdict! I love this quilt I quilted for a client-it's a signature quilt

New patterns

New patterns I just stitched out. The stacked snailz looks so cute on this Curious George quilt!
Been sorta a blah day. It's cloudy and I just can't warm up! Hope your day is going better!

Size matters....

I love the computerized longarm for pantos  because I can alter the size of the pattern to fit the feel of the quilt. The Pokey little puppy quilt client wanted small paws:
And a close up:
The Clemson quilt needed bigger paws:
and..................
Then one more beauty on the machine today:
I am progresing in my recovery. I have good days and bad days. Days where I need extra meds and then sleep a lot! Just thankful for each day!

Hope your week is good!

No more brace!

I had a good Doctor's visit. My "hardware" is holding up and I don't have to wear the brace anymore. I definitely feel better! I have started doing a few customer quilts. Right now only smaller quilts -no huge king quilts! I go back for more tests in June and hopefully my bones will be fused together and I can lift more. Here are the first 2 quilts I have done:
Curly twirly flower with white thread.

Modern squares in blue thread. I also almost finished my first "flower explosion"  and started my second.
This is the first quilted.
and the back...I am pulling all the binding to the back so you can't see it on the front.
And this is my newest! This is so much fun!

Hope you have a great week!
